Welcome to ASETRAD
Asetrad - Asociación Española de Traductores, Correctores e Intérpretes - is the Spanish Association of Translators, Copy-editors and Interpreters. It was set up in 2003 to promote recognition of these professions and to protect the interests of those who practise them. Through its numerous activities Asetrad has helped to establish a professional community in the Spanish language services sector by promoting specialisation among its members, the use of ethical and professional best practices, and cooperation with other associations and international networks, an example of which is the Association's active participation in the International Federation of Translators (FIT). |

Need an expert translator, copy-editor or interpreter?
Asetrad is an open and inclusive association and therefore it has members who work in a wide variety of language specialities: general, financial, technical, scientific, literary, advertising, legal and sworn translation; localisation, dubbing and subtitling, copy-editing, copy-writing, and simultaneous, consecutive or liaison interpreting. You can use our Find a member service to find the professional who best suits your needs, or if you prefer you can send us details of your recruitment vacancy and we will publish it free of charge in our Job Opportunities service for professional members. Do you work in the translation, copy-editing or interpreting sector?
Asetrad was set up to protect the interests of translators, copy-editors and interpreters and to achieve recognition of these professions. With this aim, the Association provides its members with services such as training activities, a legal advice forum, a mailing list they can use to contact each other and exchange information, job listings, publications like El Cuaderno de Bitácora or La Linterna del Traductor and surveys on the current state of the sector. Information, cooperation with professional networks and continuing professional development are now vital for keeping abreast of the market and not having to face the challenges of our profession alone.
